Weekend at the Lake

This past weekend we had a fun relaxing weekend at the lake just the 3 of us! Colton loves loves going to the lake and asks me just about every morning when we are going to the lake again. :)

Colton loves playing on our little beach (which we only have bc the water is so low). 

 Austin joined us on the beach for some fetch and swim time. She loves playing in the lake!

 This big storm rolled in quick and we had to go inside while it stormed and rained for a good 3 to 4 hours.  We didn't mind because we need the rain and we just lounged around inside.

After the storm passed we headed back outside to give Austin a bath.  Colton loved helping Daddy with this! 

 Of course when bath time was over there was water hose play and fun! :)

 While out side we discovered a snake skin in the flower bed.  Jeff pulled it out and pieced it together to find...

 It measured 6 feet 10 inches!!! WHAT?!?! That is a huge snake! We determined it was a Diamondback Water Snake, which is non venomous...but still way too big! And we have comfort in knowing that he is now bigger since he shed his skin!:( 

The next morning was all sun, so back to the beach area we went! Colton loved hunting for "sea shells" (muscle shells) on the beach.  There were lots to find and he had the best time looking for them and scooping them up with his shovel.  

 Colton washed off all his shells and lined them up on the porch. He was so proud of all the shells he found! 

Such a fun family summer weekend at the lake!
