Rodeo

Last weekend we took Colton to the Mesquite Rodeo for one last "Staycation" activity.  This was Colton's first Rodeo and he liked watching the horses the most.  This kid really likes horses!!
Anxiously awaiting the rodeo to start!
First thing up was the bareback riding.  Colton was just in awe of what was going and had never seen a horse do that before!
The chuck wagon races were fun to watch too.
Before the rodeo and at intermission there was an area where all the horses were and you could see them behind this fence.  Colton loved going over here and looking at all the horses.  He even got to pet one that came to the gate.  My silly boy was so timid earlier to pet a pony at the pony rides they had, but he could not stick his arm through the fence fast enough to pet a full sized horse! Ha!
The roping events were not Colton's favorite and he got a little bored, but he loved it when they did the barrel racing.  If you ask what his favorite part about the rodeo was he will say "when the horsies went really fast and the funny clown",
Then it was time for the bull riding. He was in awe of this event as well.  He learned the rider had to stay on the bull 8 seconds and had fun counting to 8 for each ride.
Fun family night at the Rodeo!
Grandpa even joined us for the rodeo fun!
