Fun with Friends at the Zoo

On Wednesday we met up with some friends at the zoo for a day of fun!  It got pretty warm but we had a really good time and saw lots of animals.  Colton loves the zoo!! :) Fun Day!

I thought we would try the wagon out this trip and we asked Addison to join! Addison loved it! Colton was not so sure about sharing his wagon, but he got over it! I think he liked the wagon better than the stroller! 

 We headed to the Outback first and here is Madison, Addison and Colton checking out the Kangaroos

 We had a picnic lunch...which was interesting trying to keep the kiddos sitting and the bees away! 

 Then it was off to the Savahana.  We just love the elephants!!

 The cheetahs were sleeping right by the glass, so we got a great peek at them

 All the lions were napping by the window! It was great and Colton loved seeing them all.  He had been asking to see the lions, elephants and penguins the whole time we were there!

Last but not least...the penguins! Colton loves them! I have to say their water looked great on this hot day! 

Emory Elaine is Here!!

Our sweet little niece, Emory Elaine was born on Tuesday, April 17th. She weighed 7lbs 6oz and 19.6" long. Hard to believe my little sister is a mommy now!! Baby Emory is so precious!

We took Colton up to the hospital meet his new cousin. He was intrigued for sure, but mostly was super excited to see his Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Nate! :)

24 Months

Well, I guess I will not be doing monthly posts anymore since Colton turned 2. So, here is the 24 month post and stats from his 2 year check up.

Weight - 26.2 lbs. (27 %)

Height - 36 1/2 in. (94%) - NBA here we come! :)

Head Circumference - 49.3 cm. (80%)
• Love that this boy can sleep from 8:30 to about 8:30 am with one 2 hour nap.
• Colton is still a picky eater! Doc says it is normal and he is fine. We will keep trying!
• Colton still has 16 teeth.
• He is wearing 18-24 month clothes and 24 month clothes, 2T is still a little big. He wears size 4 diapers.
• Colton is so funny and he says the funniest things! He speaks in little sentences and we are amazed how well his vocabulary and speech are. He talks all the time!! Not only does he repeat everything, but he remembers things too!
• This boy loves loves dinosaurs! He has a bunch he loves to play with and make them walk and “Roar!” :) He can identify and name T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and Velociraptor. He calls the Pteranodon “Tiny” because that is its name on dinosaur train! I guess we need to start learning our dinosaurs.
• Colton has started to really sing songs. He will sing Itsy Bitsy Spider, Elmo’s World, Wheels on the Bus, Twinke Twinkle Little Star, ABC song and a few more! He will sing along with the songs and on his own too.
• Colton has gotten into The Lion King and really likes the movie! He likes the songs and all the characters…Disney movies here we come!
• Some of his other favorite things right now are: taking wagon rides to feed the ducks, eating dinner outside, playing with his cars, playing ball with his Daddy, doing arts and crafts, saying “I do it” for everything!, Caillou, chasing Austin with his shopping cart, listening to his Elmo cd in the car, Gymboree class, helping pick up his toys, giving the sweetest hugs and kisses, and playing with the iPad!

We love you sweet boy!!

Easter Celebration

We had a wonderful Easter weekend filled with Family and Fun. I love Easter and everything it represents. It is such a special celebration of the love God has for us and the triumph of Christ! We are so blessed!

On Saturday, Jeff and I went to Jeff's cousin's wedding. We had a great night out!

While we were at the wedding, Colton stayed with Mammaw and Pawpaw. He made these awesome dinosaur colored eggs. He was very proud of them! Here is saying "Roar". :)

Easter morning we went to church and then to a yummy brunch with family at La Duni.

Colton wore his cool boots like his Daddy and he was so proud of them. He showed everyone his boots, even the nursery workers! :)

Later that afternoon, Colton got his Easter basket (not enough time in the morning). He enjoyed pulling out all his goodies!

Since it had just poured down rain and it was all wet and muddy, we had the Easter Egg Hunt inside. Colton had so much fun finding the eggs and opening them, that we had to re hide them two more times! He would find an egg, shake it, then open it right away. It was funny. He figured out real fast which eggs he shook had an M&M inside! :)

Colton-o-Saurus

We had Colton's 2nd Birthday Party on Saturday at Gymboree. It was a dinosaur theme because Colton really likes dinosaurs. It was so much fun!

Here are some collages of the decor and food. We had cupcakes and dinosaur sugar cookies, veggie and fruit cups and cones filled with chex mix. Yummy!

Since his party on Saturday was so jam packed and kid crazy, we had family over on Sunday to celebrate more and open presents. Colton had a blast opening presents, playing with everyone and eating pizza! :)
