Christmas Time with Colton

Christmas time this year has been so much fun with Colton! It is truly amazing how aware he is of Christmasy things and how much he talks and remembers stuff. Here are some things he is doing and saying!

We have a Little People Christmas CD he loves to listen to in the car! After each song he clap and say "yeay" :) So, some of his favorites on the cd are Deck the Halls : he will say the "lalalalas", Frosty the Snowman : he will say "umpty umpty ump ump Frosty Go", and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer : he will say "eindeer", "nose", "saw it","it glows" with the song trying to sing the words!

The most precious thing he has learned is about the Nativity! We would read books and I would tell him about baby Jesus. He has a Little People Nativity he likes to play with too. Now when he sees a Manger Scene he says "baby esus". I was able to somewhat get it on tape...but in his sweet little voice it melts my heart!!
Colton loves the Christmas Tree! For some reason when he first saw it he said "whoa big tree". So that stuck...all Christmas Trees are "Big Tree". I opted to buy a bunch of shatter proof ornaments for the tree this year instead of putting up all my glass ones! Good thing...he started to take the balls off and throw them! This resulted in our first real serious go at time out! Well it worked and he only looks at the tree now. However, when ever I threaten him with time out for doing something else unrelated to the tree, he looks at me and says "big tree no no no no" usually accompanied by a finger wave! :)
So we told Colton about Santa and read books and he can 100% recognize him and says "santa caus". We also told him Santa says "ho ho ho", so if you ask him what Santa says he will sometimes say "ho ho ho". So we went to see Santa at the mall...that picture is another post! :)
Pretending to be Santa in the bath. He kept saying "ho ho ho"!
Colton has really enjoyed seeing all the lights! Our neighbors put up a ton with music! When we are in the car at night he will see some and say "ights!". We took him to the Gaylord to see all the lights, decorations and trains. He is into trains too and calls them "choo choo trains". He had a great time looking at everything!!

Another thing I just love is he likes the old Rudolph movie. I recorded it when it was on tv a few weeks ago. This was a favorite of mine growing up. He request daily to watch it by saying "ludolph". He will point out the reindeer ("eindeer") and snowman ("noman") in the movie along with "anta caus" (santa).

Love celebrating this time of year with my sweet boy! (this picture is for Daddy!)
