Better late than never…Colton turned 16 months on July 29th. It is amazing to me how much they absorb and learn at this age! Everyday he does or says something new! It is such a fun age and we are enjoying every minute of it!
Here are the stats from Colton’s 15 month check up.
Weight: 22lbs. (15th percentile)
Height: 32 1/4 in. (80th percentile)
Head Circumference: 40.2 cm. (80th percentile)
Doctor said he is doing great and developmentally between 18 and 24 months. We knew he was smart though! :)
• Sleeps great with night time sleep from 8:00/8:30 to about 8:00 am with one 2-2 ½ hour nap.
• Since we lowered the amount of milk we give him at meals, Colton has begun to eat better and try more new foods! Yay!! He is still not having the veggies though…but does great with most fruits. His favorite thing right now is Pirates Booty. It is a white cheddar rice puff snack. He will get the bag out of the pantry and ask for it.
• 4 more teeth for Colton! He now has 16 teeth!!
• He is wearing 12 – 18 month month clothes and size 4 diapers.
• Colton’s vocabulary is growing so fast! He is repeating and learning words all the time! It is amazing! One of his new favorite things is trying to ask where did someone/something go. He will put his little hands palms up and say “nononon go?”
• He can recognize and say: dogie, duck, zebra, bird, crab, tiger, wombat (this one was a surprise…it is on his baby noah movie and he pointed it out in one of his animal books and said wombat), turtle, polar bear, bee, baby, strawberry, banana, grape, cheese, bean, pickle, Elmo, ball, milk, book, balloon, hat, Big Bird, Ernie, and I am sure I am forgetting some.
• Colton can point to these body parts: eye (he likes to point this out on other people and say “eye”), head, hair, nose, belly button, mouth, knees and toes
• My sister gave Colton a few swimming lessons before we went on vacation and Colton loves to “swim” now! No surprise with his love for water!
• Between me and my mom we make a lot of trips to Target and Colton is with us most of the time. He has started saying “Tarrrrrrget”. It is so funny!
• Colton still really loves animals! He can tell you what a cow says “mmmmmm”, dogie says “rf rf rf”, duck says “qack qack”, sheep says “baaaaa”, pig says “ink ink”, elephant says “oooooo”with him using his arm as a trunk going up, and mammaw taught him what a bunny says…he scrunches his nose at you. Too cute! :)
• Some of his other favorite things right now are: Sesame Street, bouncing balls, dancing, helping mommy pick up his toys, books (this kid just loves them!!), pushing things, emptying drawers/bins/cabinets/anything!, hanging out with Daddy, doggies, bath time (he has moved into the big tub and really likes it), playing hide and seek (he is a really good hider!!) and running around! :)
