Here are some more highlights from the second half of our vacation! We had such a good time and are ready to go back to the beach! :)
Our Little Beach Hunk!
We are ready for fun in the sun!!
Another day on the beach building sand castles!
And swimming in the pool. He loved to jump in and swim over and over!
After nap we headed back out to the beach.
On the beach with Daddy and Mommy.
Looking for "treasures" as Colton says. He liked searching for and picking up the seashells and pieces of sand dollars.
Family fun on the beach!
Hanging out on our balcony. Colton figured out he could see his reflection in the window and started dancing! :)
That night we went looking for crabs on the beach. Colton had the best time looking for them with the flashlight. It was really fun!
"Look at the crabs!"
Here are the little guys we managed to catch. They are really tiny (like the size of a nickel), but Colton really liked them!
Departure Day :( We had to check out by 10:30 am, so we decided to eat breakfast on the balcony and enjoy the beach view one more time!
This is the way to eat breakfast for sure! :)
Saying "bye bye beach".
We headed over to the boardwalk area to explore some before we headed out.
We took a walk on the Okaloosa Island Pier and saw dolphins, fish, fighter jets flying by (there are a couple air force bases near by so we saw a lot of military aircraft...pretty neat!), and big herons! Colton enjoyed all the sights.
After our Pier walk, we headed to The Crab Trap for lunch. I had been waiting to go here the whole trip to get yummy crab claws! We love 'em!!
They give the kids a bucket and shovel with their kids menu. Colton really liked his bucket!
After lunch, we left the beautiful beach and headed to Mississippi back to my Aunt Helen and Uncle Randy's to stay the night.
The next morning Aunt Helen and Uncle Randy took us to the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science to see a special dinosaur exhibit they had. It was a really neat exhibit with moving and roaring dinosaurs. Colton still loves loves dinosaurs and this just might have been the highlight of the trip for him! He is still talking about the dinosaurs he saw!
Here is Colton seeing the dinosaurs for the first time when we came in. We were worried he might be scared...but no way! He loved it!!
Riding on the Triceretops
Big Big T-Rex
"Roar!"
Here is a few other pictures of things we saw at the rest of the museum. We got to see baby alligators and even pet them! Colton would not touch it and said "put it back in the water". It was funny. There were also quite a few aquariums that Colton enjoyed seeing all the fish and turtles. And of course playing on a giant frog and ant. :)
Colton really loved his dinosaur visit and spending time with "Uncle Randy and Miss Helen" as he called them. :)
Here is a video of the T-Rex. Listen closely and you can hear Colton in the back ground! :) He just loved seeing all the dinosaurs! He can recognize and name T-Rex, Velociraptor, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Pteranodon, Ankylosaurus, and a few others he learned on his dinosaur app that I am not even sure what they are! :)
Headed home and all worn out from a week of fun! :)
We had a wonderful vacation and look forward to going back to Okaloosa Island soon!
