12 Months Old

Colton turned 12 months old on the 29th of March, but I waited to do this post till we went for our check up. He is learning new things everyday and is such a sweet fun little boy! We are having so much fun watching him grow! Here are his stats

• Weight - 20lbs (10%)


• Height - 30 3/4 in (80%)


• Head Circumference - 47 1/2cm (85%)


• So we have a tall skinny boy with a big head! Ha!!


• This boy is a champ at sleep! He sleeps from about 8:00 pm to 7:30/8:00 am and is still taking 2 naps, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. What a blessing!


• Colton is almost completely weaned and has whole milk in a sippy cup now. We are working on expanding our finger foods and he gets offered what we are eating. He does not always like it, but he is slowly getting better. His favorite is still chick-fil-a nuggets and recently found a love for cheese pizza. Smart kid knowing these are better than peas! :)


• He still only has eight teeth


• He is wearing 12 month clothes now (they are a little big, but not for long) and still size 3 diapers.


• He is constantly trying to say words and mock Jeff and I. Although most of his words sound the same it is adorable he is trying! He babbles all the time…must get that from his momma! Ha! :)


• He is walking everywhere! He does not crawl anymore! He loves this new found freedom! He seems to have to be carrying something at all times when he is walking, a ball, leaf, toy…just something!


• He has begun to point at things he wants or sees. It is cute!


• He will wave bye and sometimes say “bye bye”. He likes to wave goodnight to a stuffed penguin he has on a shelf in his nursery every night. Too cute!


• He likes interactive songs we sing at Library time, Gymboree and home. His favorite right now is “If Your Happy and You Know It”. He will clap, stop his feet and lift his hands up or hooray.


• He has figured out the concept of phone. He will put his toy phones up to his ear and try to say hello.


• He is a strong willed little boy and is very determined (I think he gets it from his Daddy) :) He has started testing us and having little fits. Hopefully this is not a glimmer into the future of the “twos” :)


• His favorite things right now are: books, balls, Elmo (he calls him “Mo” and just loves him!), finding leafs and rocks outside, the doggie Austin, balloons, the Tupperware cabinet and Gatorade bottles.

Our baby is growing up to fast! Love this scrunchy nose smile! Walking! Walking! Walking!
Elmo! He seems to have his tounge out when he is walking. Loves being outside!
